OPI Bank Introduces First Eco-Friendly "Green Branch" in Iraq
In a pioneering move toward sustainability, OPI Bank has officially inaugurated its first eco-friendly “Green Branch” in Baghdad. The branch, located in the Al-Jadriya district, has been designed to minimize environmental impact while providing full banking services to customers.
Key features of the Green Branch include:
- Solar-powered energy systems 
- Paperless digital account opening and service processes 
- Eco-friendly building materials and design 
- Smart lighting and water conservation technologies 
“Sustainability is no longer an option — it is our responsibility,” said Mr. Ammar Al-Khafaji, Chief Operations Officer at OPI Bank. “Through initiatives like the Green Branch, we are reaffirming our commitment to environmental stewardship and contributing to Iraq’s long-term sustainable development goals.”
The Green Branch also offers customers incentives such as:
- Lower service fees for digital transactions 
- Special “Green Loans” for individuals and businesses investing in eco-friendly projects 
- Free financial literacy workshops focused on sustainability and smart investment practices 
OPI Bank plans to open additional Green Branches in Erbil and Basra by mid-2026 as part of its new “Banking for a Better Tomorrow” initiative.
